Admiral Robin K. Dhowan is Chairman of the National Maritime Foundation in India. The Admiral has had a long and distinguished career in the Indian Navy. Between April 2014 and May 2016, he served as the 22nd Chief of the Indian Naval Staff, before which he held the post of Vice Chief of the Naval Staff. During his service in the Western Fleet, he commanded the missile corvette INS Khukri, and the guided-missile destroyers INS Ranjit and INS Delhi. He also held command as the Flag Officer Commanding the Eastern Fleet.
In addition, Admiral Dhowan has served as the Indian Naval Advisor at the High Commission of India in London, as the Chief Staff Officer (Operations) of the Western Naval Command in Mumbai, and the Chief of Staff at the Headquarters of the Eastern Naval Command in Visakhapatnam. He is an alumnus of India’s National Defence Academy and Defence Services Staff College and the Naval War College in Rhode Island, USA.
